On 6 October 2025, Vitoria-Gasteiz will host Open Parliament Day 2025, an international event jointly organised by the Global Open Parliament Network (OPeN), the Congress of Deputies of Spain, the Basque Parliament, and the Open Government Partnership (OGP).
The event will bring together parliamentary representatives and civil society members to exchange initiatives, experiences and challenges related to advancing the global Open Parliament agenda. Its main goal is to highlight the role of parliaments in fostering transparency, citizen participation and integrity, while sharing international best practices in these fields.
Previous editions of Open Parliament Day took place at OGP Global Summits, with successful experiences in Georgia (2018), Canada (2019), Korea (2021), the Dominican Republic (2022), Estonia (2023) and Brazil (2024).
